Friends of dogs cherish the rights of dogs. We are social animals and our sense of justice has a powerful basis on reciprocal altruism. The rights of dogs are the right to be loved and cared for, the right to be treated with respect and the right to long and healthy life. These rights stem from our relationship with dogs and their reciprocal nature. Eating dogs is not an acceptable practice and must be opposed to wherever in the world it happens.

Dogs in Korea may be loved and cared for. There are many Koreans who find that dogs can bring them immense joy and reciprocate in return. On the other hand, the human tendency to repay those who love them unconditionally with contempt and maltreatment have cruel bearings for many Korean dogs. Doing nothing is denying our dogs what we owe them.

Nobody deserves their dogs' love. Dogs are the most wonderful animal in the world for they have mastered the highest virtue of all, love. Without love, life is harsh to bear. It is a beautiful force. Dogs who brighten our life with their gift to love and bond deserve the best.

Freinds of Dogs therefore object to the dog and cat meat and fur trade anywhere in the world. We ask you to boycott any products from countries (Vietnam, Korea and China) where dogs and cats are subject to death for fur and/or meat and the governments turn blind eyes to the problem.

We fully support Koreans who are fighting to end the horror in their own country. Please visit Korea Animal Rights Advocates (KARA) website and help them in carrying out their fight for the companion animals in Korea.

The dogs in China suffer no less than the dogs in Korea. Too long the problem of the torture and killing of dogs in China has been ignored. It's time for their cries to be listend and attended too.
